The BMW 5 Series was first launched over 50 years ago in the summer of 1972 and was the successor to the "Neue Klasse". The Touring version of the BMW 5 Series was launched in 1991.

"Power" is often understood in different ways. Generally, power refers to the values kW (hp), torque (Nm) or acceleration. It's impossible to make a global statement, as these values vary between the different models of the BMW 5 Series. Different engine variants, petrol or plug-in hybrid, are available. The BMW 520i Touring offers a power of 140 kW (190 hp). It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.3 seconds and has a torque of 310 Nm.
Yes. There is a fully electric version of the BMW 5 Series Touring, as well as a plug-in hybrid. In addition to the BMW i5 eDrive40, our most powerful BMW M5 Touring is a plug-in hybrid electric model.
The luggage compartment of the BMW 5 Series Touring is 69.2 cm high, 108 cm deep and 114.7–138 cm wide. It holds between 570–1,700 litres, so plenty of space for all your golf bags, suitcases and even bicycles. Loading could not be easier, thanks to practical compartments, hooks and eyelets.

Performance data of petrol engines apply to vehicles using RON 98 fuel. Fuel consumption data apply to vehicles using reference fuels in accordance with EU Regulation 715/2007. Unleaded RON 91 and higher with a maximum ethanol content of 10% (E10) may also be used. BMW recommends RON 95 fuel. For high-performance automobiles, BMW recommends RON 98 fuel.
Official data for fuel consumption, CO2 emissions, power consumption and electric range was determined in accordance with the prescribed measuring procedure and corresponds to European Regulation (EC) 715/2007 in the applicable version. For ranges, data determined as per WLTP takes into account any optional equipment (available on the German market in this case). For vehicles that have been newly type approved since 1 January 2021, only the official data according to WLTP exists. In addition, NEDC values are deleted from the certificates of conformity as of 1 January 2023 by EC regulation 2022/195.
