A Legacy in the Making: Wang Mei Zhen and the Pursuit of Perfection

Set against the dramatic, emerald vistas of the Fancourt Golf Resort in South Africa, the stage was perfectly poised for a historic intersection of precision and grace. It was here, amidst the rugged beauty of George’s world-renowned fairways, that history wasn't just being played for, instead, it was being forged.

At BMW Eurokars Auto, we have always believed that the "drive" extends far beyond the asphalt. It is a philosophy of precision, an appetite for excellence, and a commitment to the extraordinary. Today, that philosophy has a face: Wang Mei Zhen.

Returning from the BMW Golf Cup World Final 2025 with the Ladies Champion title, Mei Zhen has done more than just secure a trophy; she has become the first Singaporean to win an individual title in the history of this prestigious tournament. Amidst a field of elite amateurs from 33 markets, she navigated the greens with the same poise and sophisticated control that defines the BMW spirit.

“We extend our warmest congratulations to Ms. Wang on this exceptional milestone at the BMW Golf Cup World Final. Her dedication, precision, and elegance on the course perfectly embody the spirit of BMW Eurokars Auto. Her achievement inspires not only golfers but all who strive for excellence in every pursuit.” - Jason Lim, Managing Director, BMW Eurokars Auto.

We sat down with our champion to discuss the grit behind the grace, the mental architecture of a winner, and the community that cheered her on from the showroom to the 18th green.

“You’re the first Singaporean to win an individual title at the BMW Golf Cup World Final. When did it sink in that you’d made history, and what did that moment feel like?”

It honestly didn’t sink in immediately. I had to sink in a 7-foot putt on the 18th green for the win and I told myself I had to focus on the moment and make the putt. There were a lot of people at the 18th green watching and I wanted to end the tournament nicely and fly the flag high. It was only after I signed my scorecard and saw my name and country flag at the leaderboard that it all sank in. Till this day, it is surreal and I’m so honoured to represent SG and be the first Singaporean to win this tournament.

“What did your preparation look like leading up to the World Final, and was there a specific moment during the tournament when you felt you had a real shot at winning?”

Preparation was less about technical overhaul and more about sharpening consistency. I focused heavily on course management, mental discipline, and putting under pressure. At this level, everyone can hit great shots, and the difference is decision-making and emotional control.
The second round was really tough. The pin positions were very difficult, and the greens were rolling fast. I struggled in the first 9 and regained composure in the 2nd 9 which I shot even par to get to first position. And it was then I realised I was handling pressure better than I expected. I wasn’t chasing birdies recklessly. I was playing smart, disciplined golf. That was when I thought, “If I stay patient and focus one shot at a time, I could have a good chance of winning”.

“You were representing Singapore on a global stage alongside players from 33 markets. How did that responsibility shape your mindset and experience?”

Representing Singapore changed everything about how I approached the week. It wasn’t just about personal performance, it was about carrying a standard. I wanted to embody professionalism, sportsmanship, and composure. It gave me extra motivation and focus to make the best of every shot. There were cameras following us for all 3 days and I wanted to show that Singaporean golfers belong on this stage.

“As a BMW customer, how has being part of the BMW golf community influenced your journey in the sport, and did that connection make this victory more meaningful?”

Being part of the BMW golf community is special because it blends performance, precision, and lifestyle. BMW doesn’t just organise tournaments. They create experiences that elevate the sport.

That connection made the win more meaningful because it felt like a shared journey. From qualifying locally to competing internationally, BMW creates a pathway where passionate amateur golfers can dream bigger. And we’ve met so many great golfers in the tournament which made it feel really like a community.

“What’s one lesson from this experience that you’ll carry with you, both on and off the golf course?”

Composure compounds. In golf, and in life, talent opens doors, but composure wins championships. Staying calm under pressure, making disciplined decisions, and trusting preparation. Those are lessons that apply everywhere. And I’m so grateful to have an amazing caddy and friend on my bag, Logan Bradley. We had great chemistry and I trusted him as much as he trusted me. On the final day, we were at the 18th hole par 5 and I hit a big drive down the fairway. I had 145M into the green to try for eagle, but he advised me to stay composed. He said “there are many ways to make birdie. Let’s do what has worked for the past 2 days and play the shot you know best”. This experience reinforced that if you stay patient and execute one shot at a time, extraordinary outcomes can happen.

“Your journey with BMW Eurokars Auto has been a distinctive one. Could you share how your ownership experience has evolved over time, and what continues to delight you about being part of the Eurokars family?

My journey with BMW Eurokars Auto has evolved from a love for the drive to a love for the community. What continues to delight me is the genuine connection beyond the showroom floor. A huge thank you to Jasmine Tan, who was instrumental in this. She encouraged me to join the tournament, personally took me to practice rounds, and even connected me with veteran players to share their tips. It’s this level of personal care and 'family' spirit that makes being part of Eurokars so special.
