​BMW Eurokars Experience Centre Set To Display Limited-Edition BMW 3.0 CSL

BMW enthusiasts and automotive connoisseurs are in for a treat as the iconic BMW 3.0 CSL is set to make an appearance at the BMW Eurokars Experience Centre for a limited-time exclusive showcase. The limited-edition BMW 3.0 CSL pays homage to its legendary predecessor, embodying the essence of sheer driving pleasure and performance excellence that BMW M GmbH has championed for five decades.

Only 50 consecutively numbered units of the BMW 3.0 CSL were produced worldwide, elevating its status to that of a rare collector's item. The production process, which spanned over three months, took place at the BMW Group Dingolfing plant in Moosthenning, Lower Bavaria. The production time for each vehicle comprised eight assembly cycles, a meticulous process that took up to 10 days. This exclusive model, no longer in production and not intended for sale in Singapore or the region, is a gem reserved solely for Europe.​

The BMW 3.0 CSL boasts an exclusive interior with handcrafted carbon fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) components, emphasising its status as a masterpiece of precision and excellence. The modern 3.0 CSL pays homage to this legacy, reinterpreting the iconic "Coupe, Sport, Lightweight" formula with a contemporary twist.​

The exterior design of the BMW 3.0 CSL exudes a blend of classic coupe proportions and modern M-typical features. From the distinctive kidney grille to the flat-contoured headlights and aerodynamic elements, the design pays tribute to the iconic "Batmobile" nickname of its predecessor. Muscular wheel arches house exclusive 20-inch and 21-inch forged light-alloy wheels, featuring a gold-coloured finish reminiscent of the 1970s.​

The Heart of the Beast: A Potent Straight Six-Cylinder Engine

At its core, the BMW 3.0 CSL boasts the most powerful straight six-cylinder engine ever used in a road-legal BMW M automobile. Generating a maximum output of 412 kW/560 hp and a torque of 550 Nm, which possesses the same technological roots as the power unit of the current Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM) winning car. The six-speed manual transmission, coupled with rear-wheel drive, delivers intense driving pleasure and a direct connection between the driver and the road.

The suspension technology of the BMW 3.0 CSL is a fusion of state-of-the-art components, including a double-joint spring strut front axle, five-link rear axle, and an Adaptive M suspension with electronically controlled shock absorbers. The M carbon ceramic brake system offers outstanding deceleration performance, optimising fading stability and thermal stability. The M Traction Control function allows drivers to customise wheel slip limitations, enhancing the puristic performance on the racetrack.​

True to its heritage, the BMW 3.0 CSL employs intelligent lightweight construction techniques, utilising carbon fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) extensively. The unit also possesses a titanium rear silencer to further shed weight on the roads. (4.3kg lighter than the conventional component). The exterior features carbon components, including the roof, bonnet, and rear spoiler. The interior showcases a puristic sports car cockpit with M Carbon full bucket seats, black Alcantara surfaces, and carbon fibre trim. Each vehicle is individually numbered, emphasising its exclusivity.

Elaborate Paintwork and Nostalgic Details

The exterior of the BMW 3.0 CSL pays homage to BMW Motorsport's heritage with Alpine white uni paint and distinctive M stripes in blue, purple, and red. The paintwork, involving 134 meticulous processes, requires up to six days to paint which results in a timeless design reminiscent of classic racing cars. Nostalgic details, such as racing-inspired numbers and BMW logos on the C-pillar, bridge the past and present.​

Embark on a thrilling journey at the BMW Eurokars Experience Centre with the BMW Racing Simulator, a dynamic addition to the grand showcase of the BMW 3.0 CSL. Meticulously designed to mirror every detail of the iconic CSL, the simulator rig is a masterpiece, capturing the essence of the BMW CSL down to the minute features. Open to the public, the racing simulator invites participants to immerse themselves in the Beat-The-Clock Racing Challenge from 22 February 2024 to 18 March 2024. Competitors can showcase their driving prowess by recording their fastest times on the BMW racing simulator.

To join the excitement, participants are encouraged to capture a snapshot of their timings, sharing the adrenaline-fueled moments on Instagram by following and tagging '@bmweurokarsautosg.' Each week, winners will be announced based on the fastest recorded times, with the opportunity to win an exclusive 1:18 scale BMW 3.0 CSL Miniature. Successful participants will be announced every Wednesday throughout the competition period.
